Join Wes Crill, PhD, Senior Investment Director & Vice President at Dimensional Fund Advisors, for an entertaining discussion of many key headlines over the past year. Wes’ unique perspective will use an empirical lens to interpret these events using data – and provide advisors with a framework to explain to their clients why they should (or shouldn’t) care about headlines.

Learning objectives:

  • Most investors are accustomed to a traditional approach to investing that involves predictions about individual securities or short-term market movements, while also making decisions driven by emotions or other behavioral considerations.
  • Advisors need to understand the technical aspects of the investment process and make decisions based on financial science and long-term data, rather than news headlines.
  • Financial science presents an alternative approach that is rooted in research.
