FPA of Metro New York strives to create an inclusive culture for our members.  We see diversity as a value for the association. We govern our chapter in alignment with FPA’s Diversity & Inclusion Vision Statement and the work of the FPA Diversity & Inclusion Committee.

Diversity comes in many forms and is not limited to gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, age, culture, socioeconomic background, and physical ability. To foster and celebrate the diversity of our chapter demographic, the Board of Directors is committed to the following goals:

  • Support and deliver resources for BIPOC (Black, indigenous, people of color) and other diverse communities within the Metro New York chapter.
  • Provide a safe space for honest and open conversations.
  • Advocate for increased representation and engagement in the chapter and the profession.
  • Encourage a diverse selection of CE, including education targeting DEI topics and delivering information from a DEI perspective.
  • Create an internal roster of diverse speakers and presenters to put forward for chapter events and CE.
  • Connect and align with FPA’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee to ensure meaningful work is shared across the local-national network and achieved in collaboration.
  • Empower our members to promote DEI across all types of business organizations.

If you would like to be part of this initiative and help make DEI a pillar of our chapter, reach out to us at info@fpametrony.org.

Together, we can achieve these goals and ensure DEI remains an important priority for FPA of Metro New York.
