Investment Due Diligence for RIAs

Our session will cover: sourcing and due diligence of private investment managers, running internal investment committee processes related to chosen managers and suggested ongoing due diligence, monitoring and reporting.
The primary objective of this presentation is to provide RIA’s with sound guidance on the necessary steps that they can utilize in conducting their research and due diligence activities of investment managers/strategies. The key areas that will be covered are as follows:
- Manager sourcing
- Research meetings/calls
- Developing and maintaining manager pipeline
- Initial due diligence (front and back office)
- Ongoing manager diligence and monitoring

Speaker bio: Matt DenBleyker is a Managing Director and Co-CIO for Commerce Street Investment Management and its Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) business. He has over 20 years of institutional investment experience working at public pensions funds, endowments, foundation and family office investment consulting firms. Matt is responsible for overseeing the investment research and development of the firm’s OCIO investment platform. He has extensive investment experience in leading the research, due diligence and portfolio construction for a diverse range of investment strategies, including private equity (buyouts, special situations, venture capital), private debt, hedge funds and real assets strategies. Matt received his BBA and MBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Arlington and completed post-graduate studies at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. He received the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation and serves as the chapter head of the Dallas Charted Alternative Investment Analyst Association.
