Chad Smith is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and serves as a Managing Director at Heritage Financial Planning. Chad has served high-net worth clients across the country for over 20 years and during that time emerged as a featured expert in numerous publications. Chad continues to be recognized as a subject matter expert in the Financial Planning industry and has been published in Financial Planning Magazine, Investment News, Accounting Today and The Wall Street Journal. In addition, Chad has been a featured speaker at many industry conferences and has been a teacher of CPA and CFP continuing education for over 20 years.
Earlier in his career, Chad Served as the Director of Wealth at HD Vest Financial Services, the largest provider of financial services for tax professionals in the country. In this role, Chad was part of the Investment Management Committee, Product Review Committee and managed the Premium Financial Planning Division of the firm. Chad has in-depth knowledge in the areas of investment management, retirement planning, tax planning, risk management and estate planning.
Chad earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics from the University of Texas, Arlington. In addition, Chad has obtained the Chartered Financial Consultant® and Chartered Life Underwriter® designation from the American College.
Chad is a Dallas native and his family reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and are active in community organizations in the area. Chad served as a Commissioner for the Coppell Baseball Association for nine seasons and is still an avid baseball fan. Chad enjoys spending time with his wife, son and daughter at the lake or camping across Texas. When Chad is not with his family, he enjoys cycling with Dallas area cycle clubs and cheering on the Texas Rangers.
