Chris Hugar is currently a Faculty Fellow of Finance at Niagara University (NU). At NU, he teaches undergraduate and graduate classes on investments, corporate finance, applied portfolio management, and derivatives.
Prior to that, Chris spent a number of years working professionally in the wealth management industry. Most recently, he was with Wilmington Trust, a subsidiary of M&T Bank that offers investment management, trust and estate services, financial solutions, and private banking to both individual and institutional clients. During his time there, Chris held several positions spanning front-, middle-, and back-office functions, including direct client consultation, data analytics, strategic initiatives, and risk management.
Before Wilmington Trust, Chris spent several years at Nottingham Advisors, a Buffalo-based RIA, where he focused on the management of global asset allocation portfolios. Additionally, he worked with institutional clients at YieldBook, a subsidiary of the London Stock Exchange Group that specializes in fixed income analytics.
Chris remains an active participant in the industry with involvement via the CFA Society Buffalo, the Financial Planning Association of Western New York, and the Western New York Estate Planning Council.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending his time reading, traveling, BBQing, watching football, and enjoying the company of his three young children.
