1 CFP, CPA, CIMA CE

The CFP Board now requires training in financial psychology, which they define as "identifying and responding to attitudes, behaviors, and situations that might impact decision-making, the client-planner relationship, and the client's financial well-being." Beyond what's taught in the curriculum, how can you implement processes in your practice to improve your client relationships and enhance financial outcomes? Throughout this session you will learn practical applications to begin confidently using these tools in your practice.

Learning objectives:

  • Develop and understanding of Financial Psychology: Explore the principles of financial psychology, including methodologies such as life planning and financial therapy, and learn how to integrate them into your financial planning practice to enhance client outcomes.
  • Master essential client discovery techniques: learn how to ask meaningful and insightful questions that facilitate deeper client discovery, both at the outset and throughout the client relationship.
  • Apply Financial Psychology techniques to real-world financial scenarios: learn from different real-life client scenarios where a financial planner enabled the client to make a complex, stressful decision more easily.
