Part II - Modernizing RIA Life Insurance Needs with Fee-Based Advisory VUL

Chad Nulty, MBA I Protective Life Corporation

This course provides a detailed explanation of asset location, a risk mitigation and tax minimization approach through which assets are placed in varying types of accounts based on tax treatment and expected returns. The course will explain the pros and cons of various strategies during the phases of the retirement lifecycle and the importance of asset location. The course will wrap up with examples of solutions the advisor can implement in their work with clients.

Meet the Speakers

Michael Varga is responsible for First Trust’s financial professional relationships in North Texas. He works closely with financial professionals to provide him or her with industry-leading economic commentary, practice management consulting and portfolio analysis. Michael’s specific focus is on tailored risk management solutions with Structured Investments and ETFs. Prior to First Trust, Michael was a financial professional for over ten years. Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Northeastern Illinois University. Michael is a CFA Charterholder and a member of the CFA Society of Dallas- Ft Worth. Michael is also a U.S. Army Combat Veteran.

Chad Nulty is Vice President of Business Development for Protective Life Corporation’s fee-based advisory insurance business. For over 20 years, Chad has been helping financial advisors with their client’s sophisticated insurance needs. Prior to joining Protective in July 2022 to launch and lead Protective’s fee-based RIA insurance distribution, Chad served in various roles at the intersection of insurance and financial planning. He was responsible for growing sales and distribution at both AIG and Zurich’s private placement insurance groups in addition to advisory insurance roles at TIAA and Ash Brokerage. Chad earned his MBA from the University of Houston with a concentration in finance as well as Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from West Virginia University where he majored in Marketing. Chad resides in Houston, TX with his wife and teenage son. When not in the office, he can be found chauffeuring his son to various youth sporting events or planning their next great family adventure.
